My Daily Crochet Adventures

About Me

Hey Guys!

I have created this blog in honor of my new passion…no…Obsession! For the past few months I have been learning to crochet. I began by knitting and I really enjoyed making my dish towels but I found that progress was slower than I would like. I decided to give crocheting a try and viola! I just can’t stop it is so much fun.

I’ll just give you guys a little insight into who I am. I have a wonderful husband and I am a mother of three incredible children. I have a beautiful 3-year-old little girl soon to be 4 and a 2 1/2 month old baby boy as well as an 8-year-old stepson. I love being a mother and I love crafts.

I am originally from Georgia. I moved to the greater Montreal area to be with my husband in 2007. Our family is a wonderful mix of French and English culture and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

I am going to try to post something new every week and keep you guys updated on my projects as well as any other treats I find from our fellow crochet community.

So lets take this journey together and learn as much as we can about the best hobby in the world. Crochet!

  5. Did you ever find out the best way to sew a flannel or fleece backing onto the crochet blanket? I goggled that question and your blog came up.

    Nadine Jaisler

    • Hello Nadine, thank you for visiting my blog. The issue is with shrinkage. I have found two different ways of doing this. First you can make your crochet blanket and cut your fabic, wash.dry both seperately and then wipe stitch the lining to the crochet blanket. A second way, and maybe preferred, is to buy a pre-made, pre-cute fleece or flannel baby blanket that already has the blanket stitch and then use that blanket stitch to attach the crochet blanket. I have not made but a couple of lined blankets so you may want to continue searching advice but this is what I have learned so far.

  6. Thanks so much for the follow, I’m returning the love!
